Sarin brings the latest innovation to diamond manufacturers, by introducing the Strategist™ to the laser-sawing market. Specifically engineered to bring a higher return on investment, the Strategist™ increases the diamond-cutting plant’s yield in the laser sawing process by minimizing potential operator error and stone weight loss, increasing production, and reducing stone breakage.
Created separately from Sarin’s sister machine, the
Quazer, the Strategist™ offers a laser-sawing suite
with an accurate computerized planning tool. The
exact planned cut geometry is displayed with the
known shape of the rough stone and its inclusions in
three dimensions. This view enables optimal laser job
planning that reduces operator error and weight loss.
Independent from the Quazer, the Strategist™ frees
more set up time on the Quazer for cutting, resulting
in the increase of production for the Quazer.
The Strategist™ has the ability to make cutting
plans by utilizing information available from Sarin
machines (Galaxy™, Solaris™ and Advisor™) that
were previously used in the production pipeline. By
doing so, stone breakage decreases, increasing profit.
System description
The Strategist™ system is comprised of the Strategist
multi-lens machine, a PC computer, dedicated
software and a cassette. The rough stone is initially
planned for cutting by Sarin’s Advisor™ machine,
and marked for sawing accordingly. The stones that
are to be laser cut are then placed in the Strategist™
machine, where the operator applies the embedded
Strategist software to prepare a computer-aided
plan of the sawing job using the high-resolution,
three-dimensional information available. A cassette
of stones is then transferred to the Quazer™ to
automatically execute the job(s).
